The Maltese priorities in the framework of its upcoming Presidency of the Council starting in January 2017, have been unveiled and are supposed to focus on 6 broad sectors.
Whereas most sectors are not directly relevant, the Maltese Presidency will also focus on the Digital Single Market, under its Single Market priority.
Malta's Presidency is committed to advance EU reform towards a unifying digital single market that is innovative, competitive and open to foreign investments, with a view to drive economic growth across the EU.
The other priorities are focused on migration, security, social inclusion, Europe’s neighborhood and the maritime sector.
