On 29 November, the European Commission announced the 12 members of the new High-Level Group that is meant to set out the vision for future EU research and innovation and make recommendations on maximising the impact of EU investments in this area.
The new High Level Group on vision for future EU research and innovation will be chaired by Pascal Lamy, President Emeritus of the Jacques Delors Institute.
The group is designed to bring together leading personalities from across Europe with a wide range of expertise in both the private and public sector. Most experts come from universities or research organisations, some of them are leaders from the industry field and some serve in high-level policy positions in national or international organisations. The members were selected through a public call for expression of interest, in order to ensure high-level professional experience and a good balance in terms of skills, experience, knowledge, geographical diversity, gender and age.
