Second release of the Avicenna Glossary of Terms for Computer Modelling & Simulation

This Glossary is a second release with an extended list of definitions; more concepts will be defined and existing definitions may be adjusted in future updates/releases of this document.

There are occasional confusions and diverging opinions possibly leading to misunderstanding in the use of some In Silico concepts in the literature. A team of academic and industry members of the Avicenna Alliance, led by Martha De Cunha Maluf-Burgman (Edwards Lifesciences) has proposed a definition of words regularly used in the ‘in silico’ literature to clarify the meaning of the terms.

This Glossary is a second release with an extended list of definitions. This is a living document, so in future more concepts will be added and current definitions may be implemented. Therefore, comments and inputs are welcome to enrich this glossary.

If you are interested in participating in the glossary activity or any other VPHi activity organized in the scope of the Avicenna Alliance, you can find the overview of task forces and working groups here. Please send an email to manager@vph-institute.org if you want to sign up for any of these.
