From 3 to 5 February 2025, the 9th Annual Conference of the Hellenic Cancer Federation (ELLOK) took place in Athens (Greece).
Several strategic planning and political personalities of the health sector, including Joao Breda, World Health Organization (WHO) Athens Office for Quality of Care and Patient Safety and Special Adviser of the WHO Regional Director, Adonis Georgiadis, Greek Minister of Health and George Kapetanakis, President of Hellenic Cancer Federation, participated and spoke in the event.
Following an invitation, Research Professor Georgios S. Stamatakos, In Silico Oncology and In Silico Medicine Group, National Technical University of Athens, presented the topic “Digital Twins - Designing the future in oncology “ on Wednesday 5 February (day 3).
A strong, even enthusiastic interest was expressed by academic and industrial participants as well as by numerous cancer patients present in the event. Such an encouraging and multifaceted feedback signals a positive response to both the notion and the product of cancer digital twin by both specialists and patients and therefore a positive response to in silico oncology.
