The Student Committee organised a networking session in which students had the opportunity to interact with Senior members of the Community during VPH 2022 Conference.
For the first time again after Covid-19 restrictions, the Student Committee of the VPH Institute organised a face-to-face Meet the Mentor Lunch on the first Conference day.
VPHi student members had the opportunity to sign up and choose their mentor from a group of academia and industry representatives from different fields, that made themselves available to offer advices and suggestions on their future career possibilities.
From the industry side, this year we had Marc Horner and Thierry Marchal from Ansys, Cécile Rousseau from Voisin Consulting Life Science and Payman Afshari from DePuy Synthes Spine Johnson & Johnson.
Academia was represented by the Student Committee Chair Jérôme Noailly (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and the keynote speakers Daniela Valdez-Jasso (University of California), Adriana Tavares (The University of Edinburgh) and Manuel García-Aznar (University of Zaragoza)
Similar to previous editions, the event was very successful, with more than 40 registered students that had the chance to chat informally with the experts and ask them questions and advice about their research trajectories and future paths.
The Meet the Mentor Lunch is organised every two years on occasion of the VPH Conference, next one will be held in Stuttgart on September 2024. Stay tuned for more!
