On October 24th, the eHealth Stakeholder Group had a meeting in Brussels. The VPHi was represented at the meeting by our executive director, Prof Lies Geris.
The VPHi is one of the 30 organisations selected by the EC to participate in this stakeholder group to help identify challenges and opportunities in the implementation of the eHealth plans of the EC. The meeting started with a short overview of recent events including the eHealth conference in Tallinn and the GDPR workshop organized jointly by 4 different DGs of the EC.
Subsequently DG SANTE presented updates on a number of programs such as the Multiannual work program and the current and future Joint Action program in eHealth. DG CNECT presented progress on the draft work programme H2020 (18-20), cybersecurity and a framework for the free flow of non-personal data in the EU.
The afternoon was reserved for feedback from members with presentations on selected topics by invited speakers (on connected health devices and “dossier pharmaceticque” in France). A report from the various working groups was the closing activity of the day. VPHi is a participant of the Standards & Interoperability working group.
VPHi members who would like to know more are welcome to get in touch with Lies Geris (VPHi director).
