A student committee was recently appointed with the main objective to support the creation of a student chapter of the VPH Institute.

The Committee, composed by Molly Maleckar (Simula), Jerome Noailly (IBEC), Liesbet Geris (University of Liege), Vanessa Diaz (UCL) and Martina Contin (VPHi), will focus on:

  • Promoting the VPHi as a community of practice for both technical support and dissemination via young scientist members
  • Highlighting excellence within the VPHi which additionally provides student members with a label of quality
  • Generating scientific interactions between junior and senior community members and across VPHi disciplines
  • Favouring mentoring activities between students, and between students and senior researchers of the VPHi

The plan to boost the student membership foresees some interesting ideas and opportunities, that are now under full development. Among the others, VPHi plans to organize regular on-line webinars to offer students the possibility to present their work to the VPH community at large, gaining access to senior expertise. In addition, VPHi is exploring the organisation of a Winter School dedicated to VPH topics to take place next year in January.

Any students with interests in VPH research are encouraged to apply for a student membership, which comes at the symbolic cost of €10.

The application form can be downloaded here
