Join the new VPHi Young Scientists Committee!

The call for participation for the new VPHi Young Scientists Committee is now open! We are looking for motivated PhD students and postdocs up to 2 year after obtaining their PhD with interest in in silico medicine research willing to actively participate in the life of the community. Application deadline: 15 Nov 2024.

The VPHi Young Scientists Committee is an active group of VPHi student members with the following objectives:

  • Promote the VPHi community and support the career development of young scientists within it
  • Highlight excellence within the VPHi by providing student members with recognition and awards as a label of quality
  • Foster scientific interactions between junior and senior community members across VPHi disciplines
  • Encourage collaborations and mentoring activities among VPHi students
  • Promote the mobility of student members within the VPHi community

To achieve these goals, the committee organises a variety of engaging activities:

VPHi Keynote Webinar Series:
A quarterly series of online seminars featuring high-profile members of the VPHi community. This event offers young scientists and the broader VPHi community access to the expertise of senior members.

VPHi Summer School:
An annual event aimed at developing skills relevant to both academia and industry. The Summer School provides a comprehensive overview and hands-on experience in cutting-edge VPH research, with key concepts presented through illustrative cases and enriched by expert-supervised analysis.

Mentoring Events:
These events are designed to enhance the learning experience for PhD students, offering a unique opportunity to network with senior community members and gain valuable career advice and insights.

Dissemination Activities:
We share information and updates via the VPHi newsletter and our social media channels. Follow us on X, LinkedIn and Instagram!

By joining the VPHi Young Scientists Committee, you will have the chance to work closely with senior researchers, expanding your network and acquiring new skills. You will actively contribute to the implementation of committee activities, focusing on topics of interest to you and potentially launching new initiatives tailored to your needs. This experience will also enhance your CV, making you more attractive to future employers.

To apply, please send your CV and a brief motivation letter to roberta@vph-institute.org. In your letter, specify:

  • Your interests and reasons for applying;
  • The activities you would like to manage among those proposed in the PDF document, or suggest new activities you would like to implement. As all student members will be responsible for organising one webinar per year, you may also include topic or speaker suggestions.

Applications should be submitted by November 15, 2024.
