In the rapidly evolving landscape of health research, a 2-day interuniversity workshop on in silico medicine took place in Leuven, Belgium. Hosted by different Flemish noteworthy universities, including KU Leuven, Ghent University, the University of Antwerp, and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, this event was a dynamic convergence of scientific minds.

Over two enlightening days, the attendees, primarily PhD and Postdoc researchers, immersed themselves in the realm of mechanistic, physics-based models, and in silico applications in health.

The workshop began with the introductory talk on EDITH-CSA, where prof. Liesbet Geris highlighted on the roadmap to build an ecosystem for Virtual Twins in Healthcare and invited the community for feedback.
Distinguished keynote speakers included Marco Viceconti from the University of Bologna, Serafeim Moustakidis of AIDEAS, and Mathias Peirlinck from TU Delft, who brought their expertise to illuminate the workshop's discussions. The workshop delved into crucial themes, such as establishing credibility in in silico models, harnessing artificial intelligence for healthcare simulations, and showcasing the real-world impact of these in silico techniques.

Participants engaged in a range of hands-on activities, explored patient and public involvement in health simulations, and discussed ground-breaking clinical applications. The event also emphasized science communication skills and even provided a platform for young researchers to share their work through a poster session.

This workshop not only expanded the horizons of in silico techniques but also fostered invaluable connections among researchers from leading universities. As we reflect on this enriching experience, we look forward to the future innovations and breakthroughs that will surely come from this vibrant community of scholars.
