On 4 Sept 2018 a large-scale international conference took place at the European Parliament in Brussels, presenting the newest developments in in silico medicine.
“In vivo, in vitro, in silico: Why computer modelling is the next evolution of the healthcare sector” was the main topic of the event, that kicked off the European in silico medicine week (4 to 7 Sept 2018) and was followed by the VPH2018 conference in Zaragoza.
The event was hosted by the MEP Lieve Wierinck and it saw the participation of a large audience spanning from various sectors: industry, academic, health care organizations, regulators and policy makers.
The meeting gave the opportunity to discuss the next steps necessary to put in place the proper regulations and policies as well as continued research funding to realize the potential of in silico medicine.
