At the last ESB conference in Vienna, our president Marco Viceconti gave an inspiring perspective talk on the recent developments in in silico medicine.
After an overview of recent history of our community, Prof Viceconti focused on the current and future challenges in silico trials have to face. He discussed a general validation framework, paying specific attention to the integration of mechanistic and phenomenological knowledge as well as to model extrapolation.
