High Level Group on maximising the impact of EU Research and Innovation programmes

... to be operational in December 2016

The European Commission’s “High Level Group on maximising the impact of EU Research and Innovation programmes” as part of the interim evaluation of Horizon 2020 has elected Pascal Lamy, President Emeritus of the Jacques Delors Institute as chair of the Group on 21 September 2016.

The High Level Group is supposed to formulate a vision for the future of EU research and innovation as well as to deliver strategic recommendations on how to maximise the impact of EU’s future investment in this area, based on the available Horizon 2020 interim evaluation results and the outcomes of the related public consultation (planned for October 2016).

The High Level Group will be operational as of December 2016. It is expected that the final report will be published in June 2017. It will then start its work in December 2016. Its final report will be published in June 2017, followed by a stakeholder conference in Brussels. The Group's recommendations will be taken forward by the European Commission for the future development of EU research and innovation funding, in particular the implementation of the remaining years of Horizon 2020.
