On the 27th of April, the VPHi attended a meeting of the eHealth Stakeholder Group in Brussels.
The eHSG is a group of 30 expert representatives of European umbrella organisations active in the eHealth sector, including the VPH Institute. As part of the EU's commitment to engage stakeholders in public policy making, the eHealth Stakeholder Group is expected to contribute to the development of legislation and policy related to eHealth. Policy areas of specific interest include relevant actions of the Digital Single Market Strategy and the eHealth Action Plan 2012-2020.
The VPHi is actively involved in working groups dealing with patients & their data as well as standards & interoperability. As a result of this involvement, the VPHi has been invited to join the Digital Health Society Group that is preparing a ‘digital health society declaration’ initiated by the Ministry of Social Affairs of Estonia. This declaration will be presented during the Estonian EU presidency in the second half of 2017.
VPHi members that are interested in getting involved in these activities are welcome to join the Research WG. Please contact Martina Contin for more information.
