Call for expression of interest for European Innovation Council Pilot Advisory Board 2019/2020

A call for expression of interest is still open until 10 May for high-level academics and researchers wishing to apply for the Commission Expert Group “European Innovation Council (EIC) Pilot Advisory Board”. This call provides an opportunity to support the European initiative to turn breakthrough ideas into innovations.

The EIC Pilot Advisory Board will consist of 15 to 20 high-level experts appointed by the European Commission Directorate General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) for a period of two years. The Members of the Advisory board will help in the implementation of the Commission’s programme and shape EU support for innovation within Horizon Europe.

More importantly, the Board will advise the Commission on:

  • The development and evaluation of current and future EIC pilot actions in 2019-2020, especially on the new initiatives which are to be launched in 2019;
  • The future strategy of the EIC in terms of funding and support as well as of alignment to the Horizon Europe legislation;
  • Helping to shape EU support for innovation within Horizon Europe;
  • Developing material which has the potential to enhance and foster innovation across Europe;
  • Assisting in identifying regulatory barriers faced by innovators;
  • Increasing the visibility of the EIC and promoting Europe’s attractiveness for breakthrough and disruptive innovation.
