The Avicenna Project has received an “excellent” grading by the European Commission following its review meeting in November 2015.
The Commission stated that the project had fully achieved its objective and technical goals for the period and has even exceeded expectations.
The objectives of the Avicenna Support Action project were to create a research and technological development Roadmap outlining a strategy for in silico Clinical Trials and, at the specific request of the European Commission, to create an alliance between academics and industry, which would focus on acting on the Roadmap recommendations and influence the development of a policy framework for in silico medicine.
The Avicenna Roadmap, which has now been approved by the Commission, is available for download and the Avicenna Alliance for Predictive Medicine is in the throes of being formally established as a not for profit entity.
