The 23rd ESB Congress will take place at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville, from the 2nd to the 5th of July 2017, organized by the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB). This will be the first ESB congress to be held in Spain.
The congress will take place in Seville, which is one of the largest cities in Spain and an attractive tourist destination. It is known worldwide for its history, cultural offer (flamenco, bull fighting, etc.), gastronomy, and monuments. The city played a key role in the discovery of America, a time when it could be considered the capital of the world. An example may serve to illustrate the historical significance of Seville: it is, by far, the city which has inspired more musical pieces (128, the second city having more than 100 pieces). The action of well-known operas like Carmen, Don Giovanni, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Le Nozze di Figaro, Fidelio, La Favorite, La Forza del Destino, among others, is located in Seville.
The venue of the congress will be the Higher Technical School of Engineering with a fantastic academic atmosphere and within walking distance from the city center. This former pavilion of the Universal Expo Seville 1992 was refurbished after that exhibition to house a School of Engineering and has fantastic facilities for the organization of this type of events.
